Casual Care: Friday 21st February 2025

Duntroon Community Centre offers Casual Childcare on Fridays from 9:45am - 12:45pm during the ACT school term. Children are cared for in the Playgroup room, leaving parents free to sit in the centre, utilise our hot desking spaces, or join in our Mums, Bubs & Bumps group. Guardians are required to stay at Duntroon Community Centre for the duration of the session. You will be directed to complete a registration form which outlines the requirements and rules of the session before attending Casual Care. DCC VIP Membership is required to attend Casual Care. No credits or refunds will be provided due to cancellations for any reason. Sickness/Illness Policy Children with infectious diseases are not permitted to attend Casual Care. Children will be refused admission if they are suffering from any infectious disease (such as cold or flu, COVID-19, conjunctivitis, diarrhoea, vomiting) or have any other illness such as ear infection, head lice, a rash, or worms. The Centre reserves the right to refuse entry to any child should any illness become apparent during care. The Centre reserves the right to call any person legally responsible for the child to attend to the child if they are expressing distress or discomfort, or if a nappy change is required. In cases of emergency, the Centre reserves the right to seek medical treatment for any child. The parent or guardian acknowledges liability for any charges incurred in seeking such treatment. Mums, Bubs & Bumps: Term 1 2025

Whether you are pregnant, just had your first bub, or this is your 2nd/3rd/4th rodeo - we would love to welcome you at Mums, Bubs, and Bumps at the Duntroon Community Centre. Build your village, create friendships, and enjoy a complimentary morning tea while joining our safe and welcoming support group. Led by our volunteer facilitator we meet every Friday from 10 am to 12 pm during the ACT school terms. This group is best suited to expectant mothers and parents with infants up to 12 months of age. Older children are welcome but require full supervision for the duration of the session, as our facilities may contain potential hazards if adult supervision is not provided. Siblings aged 1 to 5 are welcome to visit our Casual Care program on Fridays from 9.45 am - 12.45 pm (separate booking required). ***** If you wish to attend MB&Bs please join as a 2025 DCC VIP Member and purchase a 10-session program pass for $20. DCC Free members are entitled to two free trial sessions. Please be aware that our staff and volunteer facilitators will be monitoring attendance and will follow up on this requirement.  The funds generated from your membership and session pass allow us to provide a light morning tea and resources for the group. ***** You can sign up for a 2025 VIP membership here: https://duntrooncommunitycentre.tidyhq.com/member/memberships. The Playgroup at the Duntroon Community Centre offers a welcoming environment for children aged 0-5 years and their carers. Led by our volunteer facilitator we meet every Tuesday from 10 am to 12 pm (during the ACT school terms).  We invite everyone to connect and socialise, while exploring our facilities, which include an indoor play area, a shaded outdoor playground, organised craft activities, and access to coffee and tea making facilities in our fully equipped kitchen. Please bring everything you and your child might need to enjoy a fun morning with us. DCC is a nut-free and smoke-free zone. ***** If you wish to attend playgroup, please join as a 2025 DCC VIP Member and purchase a 10-session program pass for $20. Capital Crafters Craft Group: Term 1 2025

Capital Crafters Craft Group is a weekly social group that welcomes members in to the Duntroon Community Centre. This group is open to both Defence and non-Defence families.  We provide a friendly atmosphere for individuals to come and relax, meet new people, share ideas and create handmade crafts. You can learn a new craft by participating in one of the many organised activities that run throughout the year, or you can bring your own craft project, have a cuppa and a chat with our friendly members. With meetings held at the Centre weekly on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30am to 12:30pm, and the first Saturday of the month for ALL DAY CRAFT from 9:30am (during the ACT school terms); Capital Crafters is open to like-minded individuals who seek a warm and open environment where the support and friendship is as forthcoming as the smiles.  Cost per term covers the cost of the use of the facilities,  resource renewal/ maintiance and kitchen facilities. Additional costs may be incured to use the Quilting Machine, Cricut Machine and specific material/haberdashery. DCC incures a fee for every online transaction. If you would like help DCC use 100% of the capital crafters fee on other things such as resources and services please pay by EFTPOS or cash on the day or during the week in office hours. Carmel and Jane our coordinators can also send you an invoice for the term's programs if preferable which will not incur fee for DCC. If you are having trouble booking into Capital Crafters it may be because you are not signed into tidy HQ with your email address or not a current member. Free members can come to two core programs first for free before signing up as a VIP member for the year. DCC Christmas & End of Year Celebration

Join the DCC committee, staff and community to celebrate another successful year supporting you!! When: Saturday 14 December 10AM to 1PM Where: Duntroon House Lawns & Conservatory There will be face painting, a jumping castle, Christmas Carols performed by the Australian Military Wives Choir,  photography sessions with Lisa from Green Mountain Photography (separate tickets required), market stalls from some of our community members to pick up a last minute gift AND of course a visit from Santa Claus!  Lunch will be provided, please advise any dietary requirements by 27 November to coordinator@duntrooncommunitycentre.org.au  The Duntroon House Bar will be open during the event for beverage purchases. Please note that DCC strongly encourages the responsible consumption of alcohol. Please register one ticket per family! DCC received funding from DMFS to deliver this activity

DCC Christmas Party Photo Session - Green Mountain Photography

Saturday 14 December at Duntroon House Lisa from Green Mountain Photography will be attending our Christmas Party offering our community short and sweet 10-minute sessions capturing some memorable moments!  Each session includes 2 digital images, with the option to upgrade your gallery. Support DCC by supporting this fundraiser and take the opportunity to get some updated family photos. Once you have purchased your ticket you will be sent a link to allocate your session with Green Mountain Photography, please do not change the time you have selected. This step is required to gain access to your digital photos after your session.  We understand situations arise when you may need to cancel. Please notify us at least 24 hours in advance. No refunds will be provided for cancellations with less than 24 hours notice given. We will have everything provided for you to get creative be guided by an artist, enjoy an alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverage or two and socialise! This is BYO event, Duntroon Community Centre strongly encourages the responsible consumption of alcohol.  Please note this event is for adults only.
