Duntroon Community Centre offers a creche service on Fridays from 9:45am - 12:45pm during the ACT school term. Children are cared for in the Playgroup room, leaving carers free to sit in the Centre, utilise our hot desking spaces, or join in our Mums, Bubs & Bumps group. Carers are required to stay at Duntroon Community Centre and be contactable for the duration of the session. You will be directed to complete a registration form which outlines the requirements and rules of the session before attending the DCC creche. A DCC 2025 VIP membership is required to attend creche. Due to funding requirements, DCC is trialling a new ticketing system identifying current serving, veteran, and non-defence VIP members. If you wish to purchase a creche pass and are not part of a current serving Defence family, please reach out to Carmel or Jane at the Centre or via coordinator@duntrooncommunitycentre.org.au. Thanks for your patience and support No credits or refunds will be provided due to cancellations for any reason. Sickness/Illness Policy Children with infectious diseases are not permitted to attend creche. Children will be refused admission if they are suffering from any infectious disease (such as cold or flu, COVID-19, conjunctivitis, diarrhoea, vomiting) or have any other illness such as ear infection, head lice, a rash, or worms. The Centre reserves the right to refuse entry to any child should any illness become apparent during care. The Centre reserves the right to call any person legally responsible for the child to attend to the child if they are expressing distress or discomfort, or if a nappy change or assisted toileting is required. In cases of emergency, the Centre reserves the right to seek medical treatment for any child. The parent or guardian acknowledges liability for any charges incurred in seeking such treatment. Capital Crafters: Children's Quilting Workshop

We invite children aged 7 - 16 year old to join our Capital Crafters at Duntroon Communtiy Centre to learn how to make a beautiful hand made quilt. Guided by talented and experienced quilt makers, the children will make a quilt similar to the one in the picture above. Parental supervision is required (older teenage children's supervision can be negotiated prior to the day) and feel free to bring your sewing machine along should you like to, however you are able to book the use of one of our machines should it be required prior to the day. All materials are included in the ticket price, including quilting using our quilting machine. Different colours and designs will be available and may vary from the quilt pictured.  Lunch and morning tea will be supplied on the day. Please advise of any dietary requirements via email to coordinator@duntrooncommunitycentre.org.au by Friday 9 May. Tickets are non-refundable if canceled less than 24 hours before the event.

The Duntroon Community Centre and Capital Crafters would love to invite you to our annual Mother's Day High Tea! Take some time out to connect with mums, partners and people while enjoying a beautiful morning tea and be celebrated for all that you contribute to our community and your families! All members are welcome to join us. There will be a lucky door prize and raffle drawn on the day with prizes donated by the Capital Craft Group. Raffle tickets will be available at DCC prior to and during the event. All attendees will also receive a gift donated by our Capital Craft group. Please advise any dietary requirements to coordinator@duntrooncommunitycentre.org.au by TUES 6 MAY.  Please note this event is a seated High Tea experience and is not appropriate for children to attend. Babies in arms are welcome. Our Casual Care program is available for children aged between 1 - 5 years. They will be cared for in the adjoining playgroup room and playground with our wonderful carers - Emma, Corinne and Emilia. Separate booking required.  The Duntroon Community Centre receives funding from Defence Member and Family Support to provide this event at a subsidised cost to current serving Defence members. **Due to funding requirements DCC are trialling a new ticketing system which identifies current serving, veteran and non-defence DCC VIP members and their families. If the ticket type you require is not available please contact Carmel or Jane in centre or via coordinator@duntrooncommunitycentre.org.au. We appreciate your patience and support in this change.

Whether you are pregnant, just had your first bub, or this is your 2nd/3rd/4th rodeo - we would love to welcome you at Mums, Bubs, and Bumps at the Duntroon Community Centre. Build your village, create friendships, and enjoy a complimentary morning tea while joining our safe and welcoming support group. Led by our volunteer facilitator we meet every Friday from 10 am to 12 pm during the ACT school terms. Please note this program will not run Friday the 9th of May. This group is best suited to expectant mothers and carers with infants up to 12 months of age. Older children are welcome but require full supervision for the duration of the session as our facilities may contain potential hazards if adult supervision is not provided. Siblings aged 1 to 5 are welcome to visit our Casual Care program on Fridays from 9.45 am - 12.45 pm (separate booking required). ***** If you wish to attend MB&Bs please join as a DCC 2025 VIP Member and purchase a 10-session program pass for $20. DCC 2025 Free members are entitled to two free trial sessions. Please be aware that our staff and volunteer facilitators will be monitoring attendance and will follow up on this requirement.  No credits or refunds for the program pass will be provided due to cancellation for any reason. The Playgroup at the Duntroon Community Centre offers a welcoming environment for children aged 0-5 years and their carers. Led by our volunteer facilitator we meet every Tuesday from 10 am to 12 pm during the ACT school terms.  We invite everyone to connect and socialise while exploring our facilities, which include an indoor play area, a shaded outdoor playground, organised craft activities, and access to coffee and tea making facilities in our fully equipped kitchen. Please bring water, snacks/lunch, hats and sunscreen. DCC is a nut-free and smoke-free zone. ***** If you wish to attend playgroup please join as a DCC 2025 VIP Member and purchase a 10-session pass for $20. Please purchase one program pass per family. Capital Crafters Craft Group: Term 2 2025

Capital Crafters Craft Group is a weekly social group that welcomes members to the Duntroon Community Centre. This group is open to both Defence and non-Defence families.  We provide a friendly atmosphere for individuals to come and relax, meet new people, share ideas, and create handmade crafts. You can learn a new craft by participating in one of the many organised activities that run throughout the year, or you can bring your own craft project, have a tea or coffee, and a chat with our friendly members. Meetings are held at the Centre weekly on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30am to 12:30pm, and on the first Saturday of the month for ALL DAY CRAFT from 9:30am (during the ACT school terms). Capital Crafters is open to like-minded individuals who seek a warm and open environment where the support and friendship is as forthcoming as the smiles.  Cost per term covers the cost of the use of the facilities, resource renewal/maintenance and kitchen facilities. Additional costs may be incurred to use the Quilting Machine, Cricut Machine, and specific material/haberdashery. If you are having trouble booking into Capital Crafters, it may be because you are not signed into TidyHQ with your email address or are not a current member. Free members can come to two sessions for free before signing up as a VIP member for the year. You can sign up for a membership here: https://duntrooncommunitycentre.tidyhq.com/member/memberships No credits or refunds for term bookings will be provided due to cancellation for any reason.  To be eligible for a refund, casual pass cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance DCC incurs a fee for every online transaction. If you would like help DCC use 100% of the Capital Crafters fee on things such as resources and services, please pay by EFTPOS or cash on the day or during the week in office hours. Carmel and Jane, our coordinators, can also send you an invoice for the term's programs if preferable which will not incur fee for DCC.
