Casual Care: Week 4 - Friday 8th November

Duntroon Community Centre offers Casual Childcare on Fridays from 9:45am - 12:45pm during the ACT school term. Children are cared for in the Playgroup room, leaving parents free to sit in the centre, utilise our hot desking spaces or join in our Mums & Bubs group. Cost is $35.00 for 3 hours of care per child per session. You will be directed to complete a registration form which outlines the requirements and rules of the session before dropping in the Playgroup room. **Parents are required to stay at Duntroon Community Centre for the whole session.** Sickness/Illness Policy Please do not bring children with infectious diseases. Children will be refused admission if they are suffering from any transmittable disease (such as Measles, Chicken Pox, flu like symptoms etc) or are ill by means of diarrhea, any unexplained rash, thrush, etc. The Centre reserves the right to refuse entry to any child should any illness or disease become apparent during care. The Centre reserves the right to call any person legally responsible for the child to attend to any child in distress, discomfort or if a nappy change is required. In cases of emergency, the Centre reserves the right to seek medical treatment for any child. The parent or guardian acknowledges liability for any charges incurred in seeking such treatment. 🎃 Join the Halloween Fun! 🎃 Light Up & Decorate Your Home or Business! 👻 Get into the Spirit of Halloween! 👻 We invite all houses and businesses to join us in creating a spooktacular Halloween atmosphere by placing a light on and decorating your property. Let your community know you're participating in the festivities! Who: All local Duntroon Community Members including residents and all familes who are connected to Duntroon via work or service.  Where: Where: RMC Sergeants Mess, Coombes Road, Campbell, Cnr Chumleigh Close Where: Kicks off at 4.30pm for trick and treating with celebrations from 5.30pm-7pm at the SGT's Mess (all welcome. Why Participate? Create a Festive Atmosphere: Make our neighborhood look magical and spooky! Community Engagement: Bring joy and excitement to trick-or-treaters and neighbors. Show Your Creativity: Have fun designing and showcasing your Halloween spirit. How to Participate **Light Up**: Place a visible light or lantern in front of your property. **Decorate**: Add Halloween decorations such as pumpkins, cobwebs, skeletons, and more. **Enjoy**: Watch as your efforts bring delight to all who see! Dress up for Trick or Treating. Trick or Treaters bring a bag of sweets to give to a neighbourhood house who is particpating to thank them and assist with the cost of candy for the evening.     Special Invitation for after Trick or Treating 6pm-8pm   Don’t forget to stop by the SGT’s Mess for some surprise fun! Term 4 2024: Mums, Bubs & Bumps

Mums, Bubs and Bumps meets each Friday in the Playschool room at 10am in ACT school terms only. MB&B's is a supportive group to meet other new and expectant mums & parents in our community. Create new friendships while sharing your motherhood and parenting journey together. Sessions are run on site at Duntroon Community Centre by a volunteer facilitator.  This group meets every Friday at 10am and is best suited to expectant mothers and parents with infants up to 12 months of age. DCC offer casual care on Fridays 9.45am-12.45pm and you are able to book older children aged 1-5 into this program so you are able to have some time to bond with your little one and socialise with other new mothers and parents. The playschool room is set up to accomodate and be safe for children aged 3-5 years with supervision so this program is not catered to crawling/walking toddlers aged 12months - 3 years who are not closely supervised by parents/guardians during their stay. Children this age can be booked into casual care so you are able to relax and bond with your little one whilst attending. If you are having trouble booking into MB&B's it may you are not logged in via your email as a 2024 current member.  If you are not a current member but wouldl like to do a free trial, you can book in by signing up as a Free members and then booking into the event. We are excited to run our volunteer facilitated Playgroup on Tuesday mornings (10am-12noon) and the 1st Saturday of the month (10am-12noon), during the ACT school terms. Playgroup is for children (0-5 years of age) and their carers, On Saturday we welcome school aged children to take part with their families. Our facilities include indoor and outdoor play areas, organised craft activities and/or sensory play by a volunteer facilitator and access to coffee making facilities in the kitchen. Please bring along a peice of fruit for your child to eat/share for morning tea. We are strictly a nut free and smoke free zone. Session times 10.00am to 12.00pm.  If you are having trouble booking in to Playgroup it may be because you are not signed in using your email address as a current member or you may not have joined as a member. Free members can come to two core programs first before signing up as a VIP member for the year. Term 4 2024: Capital Crafters

Capital Crafters is a weekly friendship group that welcomes Defence and Non Defence members to the premises of the Duntroon Community Centre. We aim to provide a friendly atmosphere for individuals to come and relax, meet new people, share ideas and create handmade crafts. You can learn a new craft by participating in one of the many organised activities that run throughout the year, or you can bring your own craft project, have a cuppa and a chat with our friendly members. With meetings held at the Centre weekly on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30am to 12:30pm, Capital Crafters is open to like-minded individuals who seek a warm and open environment where the support and friendship is as forthcoming as the smiles.  Cost per term covers the cost of the use of the facilities,  resource renewal/ maintiance and kitchen facilities. Additional costs may be incured to use the Quilting Machine, Cricut Machine and specific material/haberdashery. DCC incures a fee for every online transaction. If you would like help DCC use 100% of the capital crafters fee on other things such as resources and services please pay by EFTPOS or cash on the day or during the week in office hours. Kat our coordinator can also send you an invoice for the term's programs if preferable which will not incur fee for DCC. Saturday 5 October at Duntroon House Garden Join us for a DCC Photo Fundraiser Day with the support of Green Mountain Photography. Enjoy a short and sweet 10-minute session capturing beautiful moments. Each session includes 2 digital images, with the option to upgrade your gallery.   We understand situations arise when you may need to cancel. Please notify us at least 24 hours in advance. No refunds will be provided for cancellations with less than 24 hours notice given.

DCC is excited to host an event for our school aged community members! Celebrate the end of term 3 with 2 hours of fun at FlipOut Majura! We are subsidising the cost so you can enjoy a fun morning of bouncing and flipping! Your ticket includes entry for 2 hours and grip socks which are required to be worn by all participants. Children's Quilting Workshop
Duntroon Community Centre

Children aged 7 - 16 year old are invited to Duntroon Communtiy Centre to learn how to make a beautiful Christmas themed quilt. Guided by talented and expereinced quilt makers, the children will make a quilt the same as the one in the picture above. Parental supervision is required (older teenage children's supervision can be negotited prior to the day) and feel free to bring your sewing machine along should you like to, however you are able to book the use of one of our machines should it be required prior to the day. All materials are included in the ticket price, including quilting using our quilting machine.  Lunch and morning tea will be supplied on the day. Please advise of any dietary requirements via coordinator@duntrooncommunitycentre.org.au
