We are excited to run our volunteer facilitated Playgroup on Tuesday mornings (10am-12noon) and the 1st Saturday of the month (10am-12noon), during the ACT school terms. Playgroup is for children (0-5 years of age) and their carers, On Saturday we welcome school aged children to take part with their families. Our facilities include indoor and outdoor play areas, organised craft activities and/or sensory play by a volunteer facilitator and access to coffee making facilities in the kitchen. Please bring along a peice of fruit for your child to eat/share for morning tea. We are strictly a nut free and smoke free zone. Session times 10.00am to 12.00pm.  If you are having trouble booking in to Playgroup it may be because you are not a current member. Capital Crafters is a weekly friendship group that welcomes Defence and Non Defence members to the premises of the Duntroon Community Centre. We aim to provide a friendly atmosphere for individuals to come and relax, meet new people, share ideas and create handmade crafts. You can learn a new craft by participating in one of the many organised activities that run throughout the year, or you can bring your own craft project, have a cuppa and a chat with our friendly members. With meetings held at the Centre weekly on Tuesdays and Thursdays (Casual Care available Thursdays) from 9:30am to 12:30pm, Capital Crafters is open to like-minded individuals who seek a warm and open environment where the support and friendship is as forthcoming as the smiles.  Cost per term covers the cost of the use of the facilities,  resource renewal/ maintiance and kitchen facilities. Additional costs may be incured to use the Quilting Machine, Cricut Machine and specific material/haberdashery. DCC incures a fee for every online transaction. If you would like help DCC use 100% of the capital crafters fee on other things such as resources and services please pay by EFTPOS on the day or during the week in office hours. Kat our coordinator can also send you an invoice for the term's programs if preferable which will not incur fee for DCC. DCC is a volunteer based, non for profit organisation. The list below outlines opportunities for volunteers, committee members, Playschool Families and centre members to contribute to our centre in term 1. Please register for an event if you are able to commit to attending and assisting on the day. We thank all our volunteers for their contribution to the centre.

Celebrate another successful and fun filled year with DCC at their Christmas Party. There will be lots of activities for the children to get involved in including a jumping Castle, Face Painting and Balloon Twisting. Enjoy a sausage sizzle, icecream, festive snacks & treats. Santa will be attending so be sure to add information about your children's ages for this event when registering. All DCC members welcome. You are required to register for this event for catering purposes and to let Santa know who will be in attendance on the day. 

Duntroon Community Centre is fundraising at the HMAS Harman Family Christmas event.  We need your help!  Please nominate your ability to help with set up, cooking, serving and pack-up.  Thank you! 

Duntroon Community Centre invites members and new members to attend Playgroup on Saturdays in Term 4. Come and try out our new soft fall surface in the playground and enjoy some sunshine with other local familes.  This is a committee facilitated Playgroup run by volunteers, so please assist in anyway you can to pack away at the end of the session. Come along and treat yourself to a night of fun and frivolity at the HMAS Harman Juniors Mess for the Duntroon Community Centre Trivia night. The night will be full of games, trivia, silent auctions and a HUGE raffle!!!  Book tickets at https://www.trybooking.com/CLKBQ Drinks will be available at the bar at mess prices for all. If you'd like to munch along while you answer the questions we have a grazing box available to purchase full of lots of goodies to keep those brain cells firing. If you have any dietary restrictions we can't cater for please feel free to bring along your own food. For those with children we have ensured that you're able to enjoy the night while someone else deals with your tiny tricksters. In an adjacent room we will have some amazing ladies to look after your 3-13 year old's. They will keep them entertained with games, craft and a movie on the big screen. Food will be provided so please ensure you let us know of dietary requirements. For the bigger kids if they don't want to participate in trivia there are couches available at the back of the room. Come along in your best Halloween Outfit and hopefully you'll win best dressed. Will you be a ghost or a ghoul? There will be games to play along the way and as always the opportunity to bribe the judges so bring along some cash and coins to join in the fun.  

Come along to DCC and learn to cook San Chow Bow and Mini Cheesecakes with a qualified senior Dietitian from ACT Nutrition Support Service in a small group of 12. Stay for a little while afterwards to enjoy eating your food and a cold drink/ BYO alcoholic beverage/ tea or coffee. This is an adult event. 

A supportive group to meet other new and expectant mums & parents in our community. Create new friendships while sharing your motherhood and parenting journey together. Sessions are run on site at Duntroon Community Centre. This group meets every Friday and is best suited to expectant mothers and parents with infants up to 12 months of age. DCC offer casual care on Fridays 9.45am-12.45pm and you are able to book older children aged 1-5 into this program so you are able to have some time to bond with your little one and socialise with other new mothers and parents. We host a book club every month on a Thursday at 6.30pm at the centre. You can also attend via zoom.  This Term Book Club will be held on the following evenings:  12th October - The Unbearable Lightness of Being - Milan Kundera 2nd November - Eight Lives - Susan Hurley  7th of December - 19 Love Sings - David Levithan  11th of January -  The Five People You Meet in Heaven - Mitch Albom  Members can join the Book Club via Tidy HQ Events Page.
